Summary - Sustainable Ships Expert Vincent Doedee was the key driver in Heerema’s ambitious decision to make the company Carbon Neutral. The decision to compensate roughly 250.000 metric tons of CO2 emissions was not a light decision to make, and required the support of a bold management team. It involved years of preparation, exploring carbon reduction measures, the development of a roadmap that provides guidance on how to prevent, reduce and compensate carbon emissions for the fleet, implementation of numerous retrofitting projects as well as setting in place audits for control and evaluation.
